Emily Quattrocchi with a special message for nurses
Putting her passion for film-making into action, Emily Quattrocchi recognised International Nurses Day by creating this heartwarming message for the staff at Austin Health Royal Talbot and 3 North.
This is not the first time Emily has used her skills to make others feel important and appreciated. As a patient, she made a similar video for a nurse to say thank you and she remembers the impact it made on the nurse. She says,
“Nurses made a huge difference to me during my time in hospital, so I wanted to make them smile and remind them of the big difference they make to every patient and family member”.
Convincing people to lip sync ‘Eye of the Tiger’ was a challenge but through social media, she was able to connect other patients and family who were willing to show their gratitude in this way. She has heard several nurses have had the song stuck in their head…
“That accomplishes my mission because how can you not feel great when you have that song stuck in your head?”
Emily has also made a short documentary about her injury and her time at 3 North Austin Health Royal Talbot which was accepted into a film festival. Featuring in a film festival was one of her life goals.
What’s next in her film making career? She plans to continue to make videos on her YouTube channel, ‘Em Quattrocchi’, get more films in film festivals and keep making people smile.
“I hope I keep making people smile with videos I make”.
