Predicting Problems Before They Arise
At the ANZSCoS Annual Scientific Meeting in Adelaide, a group of Occupational Therapists from Austin Health presented a project focused on timely assessment and management of upper limb spasticity in individuals with newly acquired tetraplegia. They highlighted the supportive and engaging atmosphere of the conference, where they had the chance to learn from leaders in the field and reflect on their own practices. Attending workshops, particularly one led by Dr. Claire Lynch, provided them with valuable insights and practical strategies for improving their interventions, including peer support programs, upper limb therapy techniques such as electrical stimulation, and navigating support systems like NDIS. The conference also facilitated networking opportunities with peers from other states, allowing for the exchange of innovative ideas and approaches to enrich their service. If anyone wants more information about their project, they can reach out to Shelley Brown via email.
