Accolades for ANZSCoS Members
The International Spinal Cord Society (ISCoS) Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) in Antwerp last month was a great success. Held at the Antwerp Zoo, adjacent to the majestic Antwerp Central Train Station, this year’s meeting attracted many delegates from across the globe.
ANZSCoS members featuring in ASM highlights included Prof. James Middleton who was voted in as ISCoS president elect and Prof. Lisa Harvey who was awarded an ISCoS Medal. Two well deserved accolades.
Prof. James Middleton, based in Sydney, has over 25 years spinal cord injury (SCI) clinical and research experience. James has been an active member of several ISCoS committees and initiatives, most recently, Chair of the ISCoS External Relations Committee and a Lead Investigator for the International Spinal Cord Injury Survey. James will step into the role of ISCoS President at the 2025 ASM.
The ISCoS Medal is awarded in recognition of a member’s valued contribution to the ISCoS community, and Prof. Lisa Harvey is a worthy recipient. Lisa also hails from Sydney and has over 25 years clinical and research experience in SCI. She has spearheaded many projects that support healthcare professionals working in SCI, including a leading role in the development of www.physiotherapyexercise.com, www.elearnsci.org and most recently www.sciptguide.com Lisa has also been Editor-in-Chief of Spinal Cord.
James and Lisa have lengthy CVs, however their mentorship to fellow researchers, clinicians and colleagues is also significant, and their contribution to the ANZSCoS community is greatly appreciated. Congratulations James and Lisa!
